2005 Lobbyist Report - 07/06/2005

The 2005 Legislative session is now history unless a special session is a called.  As the lobbyist I believe this has been the best year that ABATE of Florida, Inc. has ever had in the state Capitol.

Everything that the organization asked for was obtained except the Discrimination bill which is still a work in progress.  There was major legislation passed that I’m sure the legislative trustee will pass on to all members in his letter.

Committee hearings for the 2006 legislative session will commence sometime in September and any bills that ABATE of Florida wants to have heard this coming year can be placed in bill drafting now.

The organization needs to decide as soon as possible what they wish to see accomplished and get that information to me so we can start the process. I hope everyone is please with the way this session ended and I look forward to working with everyone in the future.
