Rider Education

ABATE of Florida, Inc. recognizes that rider education is an important part of motorcycle safety. Statistics show that uneducated and inexperienced riders are at greater risk.

Florida law requires a motorcycle endorsement on your driverís license to legally operate a motorcycle.  As of July 1, 2008, completion of a 15-hour approved Basic Rider Course (BRC) is required for all motorcyclists who wish to obtain a motorcycle endorsement or motorcycle only license.

Many locations offer an experienced rider course as well as the Basic Rider Course.  Here is the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles' list of approved Basic Rider Course sponsors: course sponsors.

The following link is provided for those seeking more information concerning rider education in Florida.
