Legislative Getting Started

Voting for those who support motorcycle rights and against those who do not is one of the most important ways a motorcyclist has to support biker rights. You can not vote if you don’t register. If you cannot register to vote participate anyway. Legislators and others do not have time to check if you are a registered voter or not during personal visits like The Freedom Rights Rally; your presence will make a difference. Likewise they will not have time to check when you call on the phone. Your views and opinions matter even if you have lost your right to vote. Florida is one of only six states that strip all ex-felons of their voting rights even after they have completed their sentences.
Felons can regain the right to vote in Florida. To learn more about this process please visit The Florida Board of Executive Clemency

How to Register

To Register You Must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States of America.
  • Be a Florida resident.
  • Be 18 years old (you may pre-register if you are 17).
  • Not now be adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state.
  • Not have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored.
  • Provide your current and valid Florida driver’s license number or Florida identification card number. If you do not have a current and valid Florida driver’s license or Florida identification card, you must provide the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you do not have a FL DL#, FL ID card#, or SSN, write “NONE” in the box.

In order to register to vote in Florida, a citizen must swear or affirm an oath and sign the voter registration application. You can download the application at Division of Elections-Department of State that begins the registration process. If your application is complete and you qualify as a voter, the Supervisor of Elections will mail you a voter information card as official notification of your registration.
